P2P killed my bandwith

Postby hdman » Mon May 21, 2007 7:46 pm

Hello Guys, my system was installed exactly two weeks ago today. Everything is perfect except, my usage is it 9,200 MB, and I still have two more weeks left. I have the 17k MB package. But im still worried about the consumption.

I discovered my sister is using Ares, which is a P2P program.

Aside from the illegal downloading, I told her to stop using the program, as it has killed our bandwith. She tore right through it.

She stopped for a couple days, and again she continues using it.

I pay the bill, so I have to make sure the usage is below FAP.

Is there a way I can block P2P from accessing the internet, or restrict the amount she can download.

I know blocking the ports sometimes works, but I read that now some programs use HTTP. Ares is a rather primitive p2p program though.

Thanks in advance.
