Ka Band Wildblue / Telesat service reviews

Is there anyone out there that has subscribed to either Wild Blue or the Canadian equivalent that would be kind enough to give us a review of there satisfaction or not of this new KA BAND internet service? TIA

move wiledblue dish around the country

I think I know the answer (no way), but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone think that it is now (or ever will be) practical to move the wiledblue dish around the country in the way that some RV-ers do with Direcway?

I'd really like to be able to do that, and the Ka dish seems small enough that it should not be much more trouble than hauling a TV satelite receiver dish around. I'm thinking ...

Problems with remote access over WildBlue

We have been remotely accessing cameras and a Crestron control system over Wild Blue. In the past 2 weeks my customers systems stopped working. Has anything changed on Wild Blues end. Both the router and IP chicken give us the same IP address as was working before. I noticed a DNS1 address this time and did not remember seeing that before.

Any suggestions

Wildblue vs. HughesNet !?!

I am currently looking for something to replace my existing HughesNet service in light of recent changes to the FAP and my commitment no longer being an issue.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with HughesNet compared to WildBlue, and perhaps they can share their opinions.

If it helps any, I am a pretty heavy downloader. Thanks!

P2P killed my bandwith

Hello Guys, my system was installed exactly two weeks ago today. Everything is perfect except, my usage is it 9,200 MB, and I still have two more weeks left. I have the 17k MB package. But im still worried about the consumption.

I discovered my sister is using Ares, which is a P2P program.

Aside from the illegal downloading, I told her to stop using the program, as it has killed our bandwith. She tore ...

Downloads are fast but browsing so slow?

Why is it that here on beam 35, Pro-pak, downloads are usually always as advertised, but simple web browsing is as bad or worse than dial-up? This is true even early in the morning before peak usage begins.

I have recently had a dish re-alignment, a new tria, & a new modem installed with no improvement. My tech & WB both said my reception & transmit numbers are good.

I've tried IE6, IE7, FireFox with ...

Configuring Wildblue satellite internet

I'm having problems configuring ePrompter to work pull down my emails from the WildBlue satellite internet service (i.e. wildblue.net). I've tried POP3 but got back the following errors: "Cannot find SMTP/POP3 Server" and "POP3 returned error. -ERR Authentication failed."

I've called their support services and Googled for any direction but their support can't help with this third party program and googling led me far from my concerns.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
