Interested in self-install satellite Internet at a Canadian Arctic site (75N, 90W), probably using Anik F2 and Ka-band.
Need by early July. Have installed C-band and Ka-band systems in past.

I would like to find out how much it would cost me to purchase and installation charges.

I live in Gods Lake narrows Manitoba. A fly in community East of Thompson. I would like to get at least 4Mb download speeds if this helps. Are

I live in rural eastern Ontario. Hi-speed is only available thru explornet.
Our home cannot access their towers, apparently.

Is satellite internet a viable alternative and what is the monthly cost?
And who is a distributor in eastern Ontario?

No phone yet. Looking for info/prices on satellite internet and voip for my cottage.

Would need to put it on vacation 6 mos a year. Is this possible? What is needed?

I can only find Explornet, and their system is too slow.

I'm loyal and have had no complaints till now, my contract is finished and I want to upgrade my equipment for what was not even available 3 years ago. Xplornet wants me to pay for upgrade, technical support told me to wait out contract and cancel contract call up dealer and do a new activation and 3 year contract alleviating the upgrade cost and giving me a guarantee on equip. I have a cabin in a remote area and only use it 3-5 months out of the year (inaccessible the rest of the time). I'm wondering if there is a satellite internet plan out there which would allow me to temporarily suspend my account (with no charges or a low maintenance charge) during the months the system would not be in use.
