Flashing Amber Rx and Tx

My bus has not moved since April '09. About every two weeks I start everything including my satellite internet system. No problems until last Thursday. Dish could not find 123W, stowing and going in circles for hours, reminds me of days gone by. Friday the system locks on after two hours of stowing calibrating and searching. Stays on 123 for hours. Saturday morning and I'm back to what occurred on Thursday. 3.9.4 has always worked ...

Modem no longer comes online

We've been moving south from Alaska and are now in northern California. The controller points the dish normally. Good signal quality, but it won't come online. Receive lock. It does transmit.

atContact says the controller is taking the modem offline. I'm not clear how he could know that or why the modem would be transmitting if the controller has it offline, or even why the controller might have it offline after it completes a search. ...

Signal Strength in Mexico with AMC9 and G11

Can someone with first hand experience assigned to either of these 2 satellites using a .74 meter dish, tell me about signal strength into at least central Mexico.(Mexico City)
I'm aware af Satmex 5&6 but because of my location in western Canada, need to find a satellite that covers both southern B.C. and at least central Mexico,so as I'm not changing satellites twice a year.Any first hand experience would be appreciated.

New to motosat Questions

I have looked all through the manual and don't see how the unit knows where it is at. Since it has a location on the datastorm map does it have GPS, or compass built in?

considering a datastorm unit for my rig

As the owner of a mid-sized ISP, I am considering a datastorm unit for my rig (2001.5 Fleetwood Discovery 37U).

A few questions for you guys....

1. Is telnet or PCanywhere usable with the delay?

2. If I buy a unit from one vendor, and get it installed locally, can I just call ground control and activate it? Or do the VAR's want you to buy it from them?

3. How do you "start" the ...

XF-3 Dish will not stow!

My XF-3 will not stow (and we're in the middle of nowhere). I finally got it down with manual motor movements. The sensor shows the elevation at -144.

What caused this? Should I run a dish calibrate from this point?

I've put tens of thousands of dollars into this system, recently upgraded to an iDirect modem and 8-watt BUC, and to be honest I've never had any configuration of modem/buc/firmware work for more than a ...

Motosat at low angles

I am currently in Fairbanks, AK, having driven here from home in Delaware. Along the way, I had my VAR move me from SatNex5 to 127W to maximize the chance of coverage in Yukon and Canada. I have an F1 dish, D2 controller and 7000S modem. 127W did indeed work for me, but I cannot get the D2 controller to find the sat, and have to use manual motor control. Using "Search", with a target ...
