Hallo! First I apologize for my poor English. I am in Italy and I have a problem activacting my tooway account.

I point my dish using a sat finder and i have good signal (9-10 dB on very cloudy day). I call tooway italy to get the Activation Code to insert on the activation web page and they tell me i cant activiate because i am on the FRENCH network (in network i get HB6-K159(F) ...

Has anyone successfully used Skype over satellite?
I thought it would not be possible because of the latency issues but I have seen in my searches companies offering VOIP over Sat.
So as its a similar technology to VOIP would it be possible?
Is standard SIP possible over VOIP?
If any other the answers above are a yes ... would it be possible using Tooway?
Or if know one has tried using Skype over Tooway ...

Living half way up a mountain about an hour South of Rome, Italy. I am American and going to be here 3 years. Too far away from other high speed options. Learning Italian but far from understanding speaking with technical folks. What is available for satellite internet. Appreciate good information.

I am living in rural Italy where there is no chance of a regular ADSL or broadband connection so I am investigating the poss. of using our satellite dish. I know it's big enough but I don't really understand what I need to have access. I read a few sites in Italian and it seemed as if downloading was easy but we would have to use the regular connection for uploading. Anyone have a clue ...
