I have two sites in rural northern California that I want to set up VSAT links to be used in the case of total Internet and phone outage, that will function under most any circumstances.

I looked a a lot of satellite Internet ISP's, and concluded that the low-cost services won't cut it. I found Skycasters which has a 6-watt iDirect 3100 box with a 1.2 m dish that they say will maintain a connection ...

Can anyone shade more light on the advantage of SCPC over IDirect and iDirect over SCPC? Thanks for your anticipated response.

Please I want to download isite software for iDirect modem but I was ask to provide a password. I don't know where i can get that. Please if you know where i can download or get the password please help me with it. It is very urgent to me.
I am using iDirect Software download page on MobilSat.

What is the highest wattage BUC that a iDirect 3100 can run without external power? I did see somewhere that said 5 Watts. I'm looking to uses a 6 Watt KU buc with a 3100 modem.

The specification sheet for the BUC says:
Low power consumption (<44W)
High power efficiency (6W min @P1dB over temperature)

I am interested in buying iDirect. A dealer went to sell me a 2048 dowload with 25:1 contention.
Which real bandwidth can I have with this ? Sorry for bad english.

Has anyone had any experience with the iDirect system as a user?  Are there advantages/disadvantages to their system?

Appreciate feed back on your experience with the system compared to others as pertains to reliability, service interruptions, bandwidth available that you anticipated etc.

Has anyone had a problem with red indicators for LNB PWR and BUC PWR on back of
IDirect 3000 series. I know this means that BUC and LNB are not getting powered but
is there any command through telnet session to turn this on or this is something
hardware related?

I have just received an X3 Evolution iDirect modem. I have an LNB and 2watt Hughes BUC
and need to install so that I can lock on W3A satellite. I am in Lusaka, Zambia. Is this feasible?
