HughesNet "clock" is off?

Hi everyone,

I will try to keep this simple: As you may or may not know, HughesNet implements a "free download period" between 2 and 7 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Anyway, I thought HughesNet had gotten better about the whole Fair Access Policy, by adding this, and more recently showing your actual download bucket in the control panel (something they used to keep very secret and you had to try to monitor on your own). ...

Google and AIM not working, again

Every morning at around 7:30am I start having issues with Google and AIM. Google stops loading and AIM 5.9 stops responding until it disconnects. The only way I can get them back is to either restart my computer or reset our HN7000s modem -- but sometimes neither of those things work and I'm left without access until 8am - 8:30am. All other websites load fine and strangely enough, the latest version of AIM also works ...

Now have a local wisp

I wish to thank all the fine folks on this forum for their help over the years, most of all the folk that worked and the fap-alert and hnfapmon. I have lurked on HN7000S forum for years and you guys and girls have been great, I don't think I would stay sane using hughesnet without the people on satellite internet forum. I am lucky to be rid of hughesnet and now have a local wisp. ...

FAP Info as XML

In as much as the HN7000S now maintains FAP information, does anyone know if there is a URI to get the information in XML form?

For example, the following URI returns the information, but in an ".ini" file format: 192.168.0.1/getdeviceinfo/info.bin

Is there an optional parameter or other URI that returns the info as XML?

HN7000S Restarting

Sometimes all the lights go out on the HN7000S, and they won't light again until I remove the coax cables.

If I let the modem restart first, then connect the cables, it works fine, but if I unplug the power cable from the back or disconnect it at the plug, then it will not start again until I unplug the coaxes, wait until the lights come on, then screw the cables back on again.

Any ...

Placing HN7000S modem in a horizontal orientation

Is it true that removing the base and placing HughesNet HN7000s modem
in a horizontal
