I would like to know how to check BER (Bit Error Rate) on an IP modem Comtech CDM 570. It is an IBS circuit on a 128 KBPS link. We have packet losses and distorted phone calls/delay. I want use Comtech for GSM backhaul, but I want reduce my OPEX (operating expenses), so I was thinking of using carrier in carrier from Comtech.

Does anyone have idea or experience in this technology? Is this satellite technology adaptable for GSM backhauling ?

I have learnt of a new technology on satellite modems called the Carrier-In-Carrier. I understand a modem like ComTech QX can use a single frequency for its Rx and Tx, therefore cutting bandwidth cost to half!
