I would like to know if satellite internet service can speed up to 40 MB Upload (40MB) and download (40MB) sinchronic speed (with dedicated public IP).

And if it's available for Belize City.

This is a potential business opportunity for the type of services we need.

I am living in Japan and in November 2010 I will be moving to San Ignacio, BELIZE. I understand satellite internet service is available in the Carribean and Central America. All I am asking is there DirecWay (HughesNet) agent in Belize who I can contact to have DirecWay 2-Way Satellite install for SATELLITE INTERNET and SATELLITE VoIP service.

Hi there,

Here is what one internet/satellite installer has send me.

If you get the Hughes from the US, it will work here, only thing is you have to get
them to set it up on SatMex5, and they may not want to do it as you tell them too.
Also, make sure you get the HN7000 modem, not the newer HN9000, the 9000 does not
work in Belize.

I'd like to purchase the equipment and install Hughesnet here in Belize. I'd appreciate any tips on websites, tutorials, hazards, and anything else that may help. It's about $1,500 USD to purchase and have someone install the units for you here! I need to avoid this charge or perhaps start installing them here for money!

P.S. I have been checking the Latin America sections at DBS Forum but it seems they are for satellite tv only.

How can I get my equipment connected I have the DW6000 Modem. I was
connected to Hughes net but have just been disconnected. When I talked to them (Hughes
Net) they said they were no longer activating any of the DW modems. Can you help?
