Help-How can I use Cisco VPN client over DW6000?

Postby SatVPN » Wed Jan 17, 2007 2:09 am

Howdy Friends! We have a new DW 6000, transmitting through a wireless D-Link DI-624. My laptop is running XP and I need to run Cisco VPN Client to telecommute. I cannot get the flipping VPN (or Lotus Notes) to work. Everything seemed to stop when I added TCPOptimizer. Any ideas?

Hughesnet HN7000S trying to access Cisco VPN

Postby TimPiper » Tue Apr 21, 2009 6:59 pm

I recently got Hughesnet for our house since that's all that available besides really bad dial-up. Everything works fine for us except I am having issues with connecting to my companies VPN.

The VPN connection software is Cisco 4.6. I am able to connect fine and I get the little lock at the bottom of the screen and the status shows packets going through, however, once connected I cannot seem to do anything. I have tried accessing the intranet or network drives or corporate email and nothing works through the VPN connection. I have been searching for solutions but have found little help. I can see from this discussion that folks are making VPN work with only a NAT connection and I wonder if I am missing something or have to set something somewhere or what?

All help is greatly appreciated!

I was not able to get Cisco VPN Client to work at all on Hughes. Finally gave up, my employer purchased a Verizon wireless card for my work laptop to allow me to VPN in. Works great. :)

Don't hold your breath waiting for help from Hughes on VPN, they won't help at all.

Yes, that's true - no help from HughesNet for VPN. I am able to use my Cisco 4.6 to VPN into work.

I have it setup to use UDP and then set my Linksys router to open a few ports. They are 10000, 500, 4500, and 2967. I do not recall why there are 4, but I bet you can google it.
