I am an educator that is a part of an expedition that will require broadband service to remote areas in Chile and Bolivia. In the past we have used Satellite phones to communicate with students at very expensive rates ($8.25 per min for 64 kbps). When we want to send either photos or video files out from the field, we usually have to hook up 2 phones at twice the cost.
My question is this: Is there a cheaper way to communicate from remote areas via Satellite Internet access? Is there Broadband via Satellite available in Chile and Bolivia? What are the costs?
Any suggestions and comments would be very welcomed! Thanks
